2025 Phragmites Cleared Area Tree and Shrub Survey

from the Boy Scout Platform to Barking Dog Corner

This survey was conducted by Frank and Christian Alcaide, March 2025, following numerous winter work sessions by Fyke Nature Association Volunteers to cut down the Phragmites from both sides of the trail, opening breathing space around native trees and shrubs.

The four cleared sections of the trail around Lake Appert are contiguous. All of these trees and shrubs are now free to grow after being crowded and stunted by the Phragmites.
